“Kendrick Perkins, thank you for jinxing the Lakers”: Max Kellerman takes dig at First Take co-analyst as LeBron James and co are blown out by Suns in Game 5

Max Kellerman accuses Kendrick Perkins of jinxing LeBron James and the Lakers ahead of game-5 against the Suns. 

Despite news of Anthony Davis’s injury, many had high hopes for the Lakers headed into game-5. A large section of the NBA community believed that LeBron James would take over during this game, even if he was on the losing side of the game. Unfortunately for these hopefuls, however, this couldn’t have been further from the case.

Ever since the end of the first half, The Phoenix Suns almost consistently had a 30-point lead. At one point the team started to take out its starters, and the lead didn’t even really vain at all.

Dennis Schroder especially needs to hang his head low. After 26 minutes, the player had 0 points. The highest-scoring player on the team after James was Kyle Kuzma, who had 15 off the bench.

Suffice to say, the reigning champions were pitiful during this game. And it seems that ESPN analyst Max Kellerman blames his colleague in Kendrick Perkins for it.

“Carry on”: Max Kellerman isn’t happy about the Lakers being blown out, blames Kendrick Perkins 

Max Kellerman and Big Perk don’t often agree on anything. So, when they do actually agree on something, you know something’s about to go down.

Maybe they’ll deliver such an accurate prediction, that maybe you start to question the credibility of your lord and savior, instead, worshipping them as true basketball gods.

Or maybe, well, they do what they did before game-5.

On ESPN’s ‘First Take’, both analysts agreed that LeBron James will take over this game without question. Kellerman even said that there is a decent chance of the Lakeshow actually winning this one.

Fast forward a few hours, and the Lakers are on the losing side of a 30-point blowout. And well, here is what Max had to say on Twitter about it.

Come on Mr. Kellerman! You were clearly on that bandwagon too before the game. Take responsibility of what you said on national television, like an adult!

Jokes aside, not many in the NBA community could have predicted a blowout, to be fair to the analysts. And with Anthony Davis still being doubtful for game-6, it may be time to start panicking for the LA Lakers.
