Aaron Rodgers has made nothing clear about his plans to play 2021. Will the Packers trade him, or will Rodgers hold out of the entire 2021 season?

The Packers’ quarterback decided not to show up for the NFL’s mandatory minicamp, something that clearly sent a message to the organization and the rest of the league that he probably doesn’t want to be there.

Rodgers’ frustrations have been boiling over for a long time now, and things finally seemed to come to a head this offseason. The reigning NFL MVP publicly expressed his problems with Packers management, and trade rumors have been present since the start of the NFL offseason. So, where will Rodgers play in 2021?

Your guess is as good as mine, but there’s a chance he might not play at all in 2021. The Packers could choose to trade him next year, meaning that Rodgers could partake in a season long holdout.

If Aaron Rodgers chooses not to play during the 2021-22 NFL season, there could be huge ramifications for the rest of the league. For one, it would immediately be a signal that Aaron Rodgers truly doesn’t care about fixing things with Green Bay.

Rodgers’ former teammate James Jones recently came on The Herd and told Colin Cowherd that he believes Rodgers will make the situation right with Packers management. A holdout would say otherwise. Additionally, it means that the NFC might lose a giant contender.

Jordan Love is extremely raw and untested, and Blake Bortles hasn’t played a meaningful game since 2018. With either of those quarterbacks out there, would you trust the Packers to make the playoffs or make as deep a run as they did last year?

Perhaps because the rest of the NFC North is weak, and because Matt LeFleur is a great NFL coach, the Packers still find a way to win enough to make the playoffs, their championship window is officially shut with one of the greatest players in NFL history.

That is of course if Jordan Love doesn’t turn out to be the second coming of Aaron Rodgers himself. But, how likely is that? Rodgers definitely doesn’t care about the financial consequences of sitting out, and so we could see the NFL MVP protest the Packers reluctance to set him free.
