“Hey Lou Williams, where was this in Games 5,6,7 vs Denver Nuggets?”: Skip Bayless grudgingly praises former Clippers star after he sparks crazy comeback win in Game 5 for Hawks vs Sixers
Lou Williams received praise from Skip Bayless, a Clippers fan currently on tenterhooks with the Kawhi Leonard injury.
Sweet Lou has proved that trading him for Rajon Rondo was a loser of a trade for the Clippers FO. He was responsible for one of the craziest momentum turns we’ve seen in recent playoff memory.
The Hawks were able to overturn a 24-point deficit into a comeback win tonight. Wells Fargo Center was roaring for 3 quarters and parts of the 4th as the Sixers commanded majority of the game.
They held an 18-point lead heading into the 4th quarter as Joel Embiid sat for rest. It was at this time that the Hawks made their move, with Dwight Howard in the game.
Lou Williams was chiefly responsible for this turnaround as he pulled out all stops early in the 4th. He started off with a missed 3-pointer, but soon found his rhythm on the offensive end.
Sweet Lou proceeded to make tough shot after tough shot and provided 2 assists to bring the game back within arm’s length. The Sixers ultimately choked so hard that they didn’t make a field goal for 6 whole minutes to finish the half out. Seth Curry’s consolation shot at the end was practically for academic purposes as the Hawks staged an improbable comeback win.
Skip Bayless praises Lou Williams for sparking a crazy comeback win
FS1 Undisputed analyst Skip Bayless has had a bittersweet day thus far. His Clippers are trying to combat the Jazz at Vivint Arena without their 2-time Finals MVP playing.
Meanwhile, his favorite Joel Embiid has been placed on the ropes by another of his favorites in Trae Young. However, Skip found the composure to congratulate Lou-Will for his amazing spark plug performance.
Key to that stunning comeback was a blast from the past from Sweet Lou Williams. Hey, Lou, where was that in closeout games 5, 6 and 7 vs Denver last year when you were a Clipper? You beat Doc Rivers tonight and you helped get him beat (and out of a job) last year as a Clipper.

Lou Williams, a former Sixers star, will be expected to keep playing at this level. If the Hawks are to take this series next game, they’ll need all the bench contributions that they can get.
