“Drew Brees Achieved What Tom Brady, Peyton Manning & Aaron Rodgers Couldn’t Do Combined”: Saints Legend Holds Obscene NFL Passing Yards Record
Drew Brees may not be the greatest quarterback ever, but he’s done something that Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers couldn’t do combined.
When it comes to passing the ball, Brees was extremely gifted. There’s a reason the Saints legend sits atop the list of career passing yards right now with 80,358 yards. He was the first quarterback to reach the 80k mark, and he did it a ridiculous pace.
Brees’ all time passing yards record will probably be broken next year as Tom Brady suits up for yet another season, but there is one record Brees holds that probably won’t be touched for a long time.
Congrats to Drew Brees on a First Ballot HOF Career. Bree’s has officially announced retirement after 20 seasons.

Drew Brees Has More 5,000 Passing Yards Seaons Than Anyone In NFL History Including Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers
Brees has accumulated a number of passing records over the course of his career, but none may be more impressive than the number of times he’s passed for 5,000 yards.
The 5,000 yard mark is a milestone of sorts for quarterbacks to reach. Passing for 5k yards in any season means you were generally playing very sound football.
However, for Brees, it doesn’t look like reaching 5,000 yards has been too difficult considering the fact that he’s reached that esteemed mark five times over his career. Want to know how many times Brady, Rodgers, and Manning have done that combined?
A whopping two times. In fact, apart from Brees, no other quarterback in NFL history has reached 5,000 yards in a season more than once. Brady did it once in 2011 and Manning did it once in 2013 while Rodgers is yet to reach 5,000 in his career.

Brees has broken the 5k barrier in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2016. Out of quarterbacks who have played more than five years in the league, Brees also has the highest career yards per game average at 280 (Mahomes sits at the top of the list with 307.7 yards per game).
Considering Brees played 20 years in the NFL and still manages to rank that high in yards per game speaks to how much of a threat he was throwing the ball. It’s something we sometimes take for granted when looking back at Brees’ career.
