Most Expensive NFL Stadium: What are the Top 10 Most Expensive Stadiums in the NFL?
The Chicago Bears are reportedly interested in building a new stadium at Arlington Heights that could cost them billions of dollars. How would this compare to other NFL stadiums?
The Bears currently play at the historic Soldier Field in the heart of Chicago. Fans seem to be pretty happy with their home, but the team is still considering a move out.
However close Solider Field may be to the hearts of die-hard Bears fans, it is the smallest stadium in the league, seating 61,500. So, the Bears have placed a big on the Arlington Heights racecourse.
If the Bears do go ahead with the project, it could easily cost them upwards of $1 billion, with the land itself expected to be priced in the hundreds of millions.
A billion dollar stadium would be nothing new in the NFL, though, as you’ll see. Most of the recently built stadiums have cost somewhere in that range.
In fact, most of the 10 most expensive stadiums in the NFL were constructed in the 2010s, or only make the list because their values have been adjusted for inflation.
The top 7, which features the the 2 newest stadiums constructed, all cost over $1 billion to build.
