“Congratulations to Torrey Craig for becoming an NBA Champion”: NBA Twitter goes wild over the fact that Craig would win a ring regardless of the Finals outcome
Suns guard Torrey Craig just won his first NBA championship, even before the NBA Finals started and NBA Twitter cannot handle this
Torrey Craig applied for the NBA Draft in 2014. After going undrafted, Craig made his way to the NBL in Australia, where he played for three seasons and played for four different clubs. In 2017, he was signed by the Denver Nuggets, after he continued to perform brilliantly in the NBL.
Torrey Craig was signed on a two-way contract for his first season. Later, the Nuggets offered Craig a 2 year, $4 million contract. Craig proved to be a key role player coming off the bench. He performed brilliantly in the 2020 NBA Playoffs. Before the start of the 2020-21 season, Craig signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. After having little to no role with the Bucks, they traded him to the Suns at the trade deadline. Craig has proven to be a punch offensively coming off the bench for the Suns.
NBA Twitter reacts to the news of Torrey Craig winning a ring
When a team where a player spent a considerable part of the season wins a title, they give a ring to the player, despite whether they were on the team for the Finals or not. Since Torrey Craig spent over half the season with the Bucks, they would be obligated to give him a ring if they win. If the Suns win, he gets a ring for being part of the squad.
When the NBA Twitter reached the same conclusion, they couldn’t contain themselves.
