Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker recalls how sparks flew during his first training session with Chris Paul in an interview ahead of the Finals 

Chris Paul and Devin Booker have led this young Phoenix Suns team all the way to the NBA finals. A team that didn’t even make the playoffs last season, is now the favorite to win it all. Let that sink in.

That’s the difference all-time great players like the Point God make. But, while CP3 is all buddy-buddy with his young teammates now, it was recently revealed that it wasn’t always this way.

In an interview ahead of game-1 of the NBA Finals, Devin Booker recalled his first-ever practice session with Chris Paul. And let’s just say, that if you’re an NBA fan, you’re going to want to hear this one.

Devin Booker and Chris Paul’s first practice session was nothing close to being a friendly one

 Devin Booker and Chris Paul have both been known to be extremely competitive players. Fans know them as athletes that would be ready to do anything to win at the highest level.

When CP3 first came to this team, not many expected the franchise to even be contenders, and the 36-year-old knew it. So, it would make sense if he felt responsible to build a winning culture with the team, something that starts in practice sessions. And well, during his first one with the Phoenix Suns, he didn’t hold back at all.

Perhaps this is the reason the Suns are in the finals. More than their ability, it is their mentality that has changed. The team now almost feels entitled to victory during every game and fights tooth and nail to make it happen.
