“All you think about is what you could’ve done more”: Chris Paul gives an emotional reaction after losing his first-ever NBA Finals to Giannis’ Bucks

Chris Paul had a few emotional and honest words after blowing a 2-0 series lead to disappointingly losing his first-ever NBA Finals appearance against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Chris Paul is one of the greatest point guards the league has ever witnessed. Ever since CP3 set foot on the hardwood as a young 22-year-old, he managed to immediately impact all the teams he played for.

Whether he was with the New Orleans, Clippers, Houston, OKC or now, with the Suns, Paul has been an integral part of all the teams he has played during the course of his illustrious career. However, despite having a great group of guys most of his career, Chris had never played at the league’s highest level – the NBA Finals.

Ever since the “Point God” was acquired to join the young and inexperienced Phoenix Suns team, Paul has been the key to the organisation’s success in this campaign. Behind his elite leadership, Phoenix not only advanced to their first playoffs appearance in a decade but also advanced to the NBA Finals after 28 whole years.

Chris Paul gives an honest reaction after losing his first-ever NBA Finals

After leading the 2-0 to the Milwaukee Bucks in the finals, the Suns’ worst nightmare has come true. A few brilliant finals performances by Giannis Antetokounmpo helped his Bucks team in successfully overcoming the deficit to hand Chris Paul and the Suns a heart-breaking NBA Finals loss.

At age 36, playing at the tail end of his career, CP would be devastated by this loss more than anyone in the Phoenix locker room.

Following the Game 6 loss, Chris had an extremely honest reaction. He told the reporters:

“I’ll take some time to think about that, but right now, you just think about what you could’ve did more. Great group of guys, hell of a season”

Paul also disclosed, being the fierce competitor he is, he would be hitting the gym in preparations for the next season:

“For me it just means back to work. Nothing more, nothing less. There are no moral victories. We’ve seen what it takes to get here, and hopefully we see what it takes to get past that.”

Despite this tragic loss, Paul had a pretty great playoffs run, putting up 19.2 points, dishing 8.6 assists and grabbing 3.5 rebounds in the 20 postseason games. Even though the chase for that long-awaited NBA Championship continues for Chris Paul, he deserves every ounce of respect for the spectacular career he has had so far.
