“I Never Saw Anyone Give Away As Many Championships As Wilt Chamberlain”: Happy Hairston Roasts His Lakers Teammate For Choking In The NBA Finals
Wilt Chamberlain was one of the greatest NBA players during his peak, but even he couldn’t avoid being roasted by his teammate Happy Hairston.
The two time NBA champion and 13 time All Star dominated the game in ways you could never have imagined. Wilt’s crowning moment was, of course, when he put 100 points in a single NBA game, setting a record that has yet to be be beaten, but he’s had several other crazy moments.
During the 1961-62 season, Wilt the Stilt averaged a whopping 50.4 points per game to go along with an equally mind boggling 25.7 rebounds per game (not even his highest rebounding mark throughout his career).

This was something Hairston alluded to when he participated in a roast of the NBA legend. Among other things, Hairston brought up Chamberlain’s poor Finals performances and how he could have played better and won more if he tried.
At the time, the debate between Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell was the biggest one in the NBA. Russell was the defensive nightmare and winning savant as he compiled 11 titles with the Celtics in 13 years. This was something else that Hairston chose to roast Wilt about:
