“Kyle Kuzma was a better 3-point shooter than Trae Young in the 2020-21 regular season”: The Lakers power forward was more efficient than Ice Trae from beyond the arc
In an interesting statistic, it is revealed that Kyle Kuzma sank more 3-pointers than Trae Young during the 2020-21 regular season.
Kyle Kuzma has lately been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The 26-year old has been heavily criticized for his poor performance in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
With constant reports circulating in the media of the LA Lakers trying to get rid of him, followed by his alleged rift with LeBron James.
Woj says the Lakers have offered Kyle Kuzma and KCP to almost every single team in the league that he’s talked to lol

The former NBA champion averaged 6.3 PPG on a dismal 29.2% shooting from the field and 17.4% shooting from the 3-point line in the 2021 playoffs.
On the other hand, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young was nothing but spectacular in the playoffs this year. The 22-year old carried his team to the ECF, averaging 28.8 PPG, 9.5 APG, and 1.3 SPG on a 41.8% shooting from the field and 86.6% from the free-throw line.
However, an injury during the Game Three of the ECF robbed him of his phenomenal run in the playoffs, which resulted in the Hawks losing the contest to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Kyle Kuzma sank more 3-pointers than Trae Young during the 2020-21 regular season
In a surprising statistic, Kuzma converted more 3’s than Ice Trae during the regular season. Young is known to be one of the best 3-pointer shooters in the league, with great range.
Kuzma shot 137 out of the 380 three-pointers he attempted in the 2020-21 regular season. On the other hand, Young shot 136 out of the 390 three-pointers he attempted.
The Lakers forward Kuzma was 36.1% from beyond the arc during the regular season, while Young was 34.3%.
There is no denying that Young had a much better season than the Laker forward. However, the notion that Young is a great 3-point shooter might be slightly exaggerated if the statistics are to go by.
The 2020 NBA All-Star is often compared to Warriors superstar Stephen Curry for his ability to shoot the 3, while Steph is a career 43.3% from the 3-point line.
There is no doubt that the two individuals in question are some of the most promising talents in the league. However, the critics, who have been constantly targeting Kuzma for the Lakers’ debacle this year, might want to take a look at the above statistic.
