Team USA Head Coach Gregg Popovich has a witty reply to being asked whether he wants to face France or Slovenia in the Olympic finals
Team USA, after their initial struggles leading up to Tokyo 2020, have won four games on the trot, and are now in the Finals of the Men’s basketball category. Under coach Gregg Popovich and his leadership, the team has managed to turn things around. They defeated Australia 97-78, confirming at least a silver medal to their name. After a tough first half, Team USA had a dominant second half and rode the wave to the win.
Kevin Durant stepped up and led the team, scoring a game-high 23 points and 9 rebounds. Devin Booker added another 20 points to the tally. Jrue Holiday scored 11 points grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished 8 assists. With this win, the USA has now advanced to the Finals. They still are unknown to the fact who is the other team they’d be facing. The second semi-finals between Slovenia and France are due to happen in an hour. The winner of the same would face Team USA in the Finals on 7th August.
Gregg Popovich gives a witty reply to answer France or Slovenia
Gregg Popovich has been San Antonio Spurs Head Coach since 1994. In the 28 years of being a head coach, we’ve seen all sides of coach Pop.
After the first semi-finals, the media went up and asked Head Coach Gregg Popovich which team USA would prefer to face in the Finals. Pop decided to take the hilarious route and replied to the same by saying, ‘I wouldn’t touch that with a 10-foot pole.’
USA’s Gregg Popovich on whether he wants to face France or Slovenia for gold: “You really think I’m going to answer that question? How long have you been a reporter? You must be talking to some dumb coaches. I wouldn’t touch that with a 10-foot pole. You’ve got to be kidding.”

Coach Pop avoided that question with some diplomacy and humor. It is a sure fact that the entire American squad would be glued to the game, to find whether they’re facing Slovenia or France next.
