England vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI- Preview
When Liam Plunkett hit that six over long off to earn England a tie, two incidents from the WT20 flashed through my mind.
The first was how Bangladesh had started celebrating when 2 runs were required from 3 balls in the game against India, a game that Bangladesh ultimately lost. And the second was Carlos Braithwaite achieving the impossible by hitting Ben Stokes for 4 mammoth sixes in the final over of the WT20 final.
The Sri Lankans had started celebrating way before the last ball was bowled and ultimately ended up on the losing side and Liam Plunkett did the impossible by hitting a six of the last ball to gift his side a tied game

Two very important lessons from these 4 incidents combined:
1) Never ever get complacent in life, no matter what you do and how favourable the situation looks like
2) Until it is actually over, it is not over!
Sri Lanka hadn’t started the game pretty well, loosing their openers to same brilliant swing bowling by Wiley and Woakes. Chandimal and Mathews steadied the ship and Prasanna’s late order heroics ensured that they posted a competitive total of 286.
The England innings was identical. Their top 3 did not trouble the scorers much and it took a heroic effort from Buttler and Woakes to get them close to the Sri Lankan total. But it was the final thrust from Plunkett that ultimately led England to tie the game with Sri Lanka.
Let’s get to business now!
