Is Dolph Ziggler’s threat to leave the company truly genuine?
On Smackdown Live, United States Champion Dolph Ziggler shocked the WWE universe after he left his newly won title in the ring and walked out of the arena in Newark, New Jersey.
If you missed the show, Ziggler was set for an in-ring celebration just 48 hours after winning the U.S. title at Clash of Champions. The show ran through a list of his former championship accomplishments, as Dolph explained that nobody should have been surprised that he won.
They showed his past U.S., Intercontinental, and World title victories.

Dolph screamed at the crowd that they don’t deserve him, and he told them that if they want a memorable moment, he has one last one for them. Ziggler then proceeded to lay the belt down in the middle of the ring and walk off in silence.
This led to many questions. Was that him relinquishing the championship? Was this Ziggler’s goodbye? Is he headed to Japan, to Ring of Honor, to focus on his Hollywood career?
According to PW Insider, Ziggler is set to follow through on this storyline by staying off-television for the next few episodes of SmackDown Live and he will still be working live events.
Ziggler leaving WWE is a rumour that has been doing the rounds for a long time. Given his on and off push and inconsistent booking, he has reason to be dissatisfied with how he has been used by the company. This angle seems to be an interesting one, and it will be intriguing to see how WWE book the coming shows.
