JUST IN: David Warner’s altercation with Quinton de Kock provoked by barb about his wife
David Warner’s altercation with Quinton de Kock has spread lie wildfire on social media, with Warner having to be pulled back his teammates on the staircase near the dressing room after the 2nd session on Day 4 of the 1st Test against South Africa.
Warner had to be pulled back by his teammates as he was spitting fire, threatening to go ahead and get involved in a physical battle with Quinton de Kock, who seemed to be rather calm and collective during the entire video.
Obviously, something would have triggered such a reaction from David Warner, and reports in the Sydney Morning Herald suggest that Warner’s rage was provoked by an apparent barb made by QDK on Warner’s wife.
Warner had been chirping away at almost all Proteas batsmen all through the Test match. Warner’s comments were especially aimed at Markram, who had played a major role in AB de Villiers’ run-out.

Markram was batting with QDK when the duo walked away for tea on Day 2, scripting a mini-fight back after South Africa were reduced to 49/4 while chasing 417 in the 4th innings.
Gilchrist took to social media to express his views on the entire incident.
“Ugly scenes in Durban. Can only assume something very personal has been throw at @davidwarner31 for this type of reaction. Not a good look all round.” Gilchrist said.

Smith was quick to jump on this reaction from Gilchrist, saying that one has to be ready to get some slack from the opponents, if he has been giving it to them all along.
Gilly- Warner crossed many personal boundaries with the South Africans, so we can’t be surprised when there is eventually a reaction. If players are happy to give it,they have to be prepared to take it,too. On both sides!
But agreed not a good look. #SAvsAUS https://t.co/obTo0GO2H8— Graeme Smith (@GraemeSmith49) March 5, 2018
Was Warner justified in trying to attack de Kock?
