Jasprit Bumrah sends a tweet to Steve Smith
The ball tampering incident has hit Australian Cricket and fans from all over the world really hard.
But the real problem for Australian Cricket Board is yet to come as their prime partner Magellan snapped the deal with CA that cost the board $ 20 Million. CA has banned Steve Smith and David Warner for one year and the duo have also lost their multi-million dollar contracts with the IPL.
The tainted trio have reached Australia and have separately addressed the media after landing ‘Down Under’, with Steve Smith even breaking down in his press conference in Sydney, apologising once again to the Australian fans and to everyone who has been affected by the incident.
Bancroft too was extremely remorseful in the press conference and admitted the incident as a “regretful moment of his life”.
“I will focus on my actions and my conduct going forward. Not a second has gone by where I haven’t wanted to turn back time. I will regret this for the rest of my life. I just want to show how sorry I am, and at the end of the day, they are my actions that I am accountable for, and they don’t reflect on my values and what I have grown up to be. It is something I am very ashamed of and so sorry for.” Bancroft said.
Teary-eyed Smith said, “To all my team-mates, to fans of cricket all over the world, to all Australians who are disappointed and angry, I am sorry. I want to make clear that as captain of the Australian cricket team I take full responsibility.”
The video went viral on social media of Smith addressing the media after his arrival in Sydney. Smith looked broken and felt sorry for his actions and is absolutely devastated. The fans felt bad for the Australian Cricketer, Smith.
The Indian Pacer, Jasprit Bumrah came in support of Smith and tweeted an inspirational quote for him.
‘When someone does something wrong, don’t forget all the things they did right,’ read his tweet.
