BCCI announce ODI squad for England series
India play a 3 match ODI series against England starting from the 12th of July in Birmingham. The series promises to be a brilliant one, as both sides have plenty of firepower in the limited overs circuit and have been playing exceedingly well in the last 18 months or so.
India would come to England on a high after having brushed aside the South African ODI unit in their own den.
However, the English conditions would present the Indian batsmen and bowlers with a different challenge altogether and it will be interesting to see how Virat Kohli and co. counter the conditions.
There have been quite a few surprises in the ODI squad, as Raina and Jadhav both have been left out and in the top 6 Indian doesn’t seem to have any bowling option.
It seems like Kohli is going to go with a 5 bowler plus Hardik Pandya strategy in England. At least that’s what the fans can hope for, because going in with just 4 front line bowlers and Hardik Pandya(without a back up 6th bowling option) could prove to be hazardous.

It seems like it is the end of the road for Ajinkya Rahane in the ODI setup, as despite being used in that number 4 role throughout the South Africa series, he has been dropped for the England tour.
Rayudu and DK will most probably compete for that number 4 spot in England.
