“Cryptos se bhi tez gir rahi hai apni performance”: Virender Sehwag criticizes team India after they lose second consecutive ODI series against Bangladesh
Bangladesh have defeated India in the second ODI of the three-match series by 5 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead, and with it register their second consecutive bilateral series win against the visitors in the format.
En route the competitive target of 272 runs, team India lost three of their wickets within the Powerplay, to find themselves on the back foot early into the chase.
With the previous match half-centurion KL Rahul (14 off 28) also back in the hut, the hosts were all set to tighten the noose around the rest of the Indian line-up, with Rohit Sharma still uncertain to arrive at the crease after suffering an injury during the first innings.
However, the in-form Shreyas Iyer (82 off 102) yet again rose to the occasion and stitched a century stand for the fifth wicket alongside Axar Patel (56 off 56), to bring the team right back into the contest.
Rohit Sharma finally arrives as the crease
After both Iyer and Axar departed within three Overs, Rohit arrived at the crease at no.9 in the order hoping to somehow steer the sinking Indian ship, with his left-hand thumb all bandaged up.
With 40 runs needed off the last two Overs, the Indian skipper activated his beast mode on to smash a flurry of boundaries and ultimately brought the equation down to 6 runs required off the last delivery of the match, to suddenly silence the ever-roaring Bangladeshi crowd in disbelief.
However, it was Bangladesh’s night ultimately as Mustafizur Rahman (10-1-43-1) bowled a full, pacey delivery on Sharma’s pads, to deny India the opportunity to draw level the series.
Virender Sehwag criticizes team India
Former Indian explosive batter Virender Sehwag took to his social media handle to express displeasure in his own inimitable style with India’s loss tonight in particular, and their recent White ball form in general.
Sehwag exclaimed that the team’s performance is falling even more rapidly than the Cryptocurrency, and that they need to wake up at the earliest.
Cryptos se bhi tez gir rahi hai apni performance yaar. Need to shake up – wake up.

Earlier, after having found themselves in deep trouble with the scorecard reading 69/6, the previous match hero for the hosts Mehidy Hasan Miraz (100* off 83) yet again bailed his team out of trouble.
He not only smashed his maiden ODI century, but also broke the record for the highest 7th wicket partnership alongside Mahmadullah (77 off 96) for Bangladesh against India in the format, to take the total to 271/7 in 50 Overs.
