“It’s the NBA, Everybody Knows Everybody’s Plays!”: Kevin Durant Backs Luka Doncic Amidst Backlash Over Final Play Against Bucks

The NBA is a highly competitive league. Each team tries to use all possible resources to help them gain an edge over the others and help them win. The same happened to Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks last night. The Milwaukee Bucks were in town and handed them a 106-105 defeat.

Riding on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 28 points and ten rebounds, the Bucks managed to get one up on the Mavs. However, Brook Lopez scored the final points to give the team a one-point edge. With 2.4 seconds left, the Mavs had the ball, and a play was drawn for Luka Doncic.

While the play had worked for the Mavs in the past, it also meant that they’d used it before. The Bucks knew it and were prepared for the same. Luka recognized this and was criticized for not being able to communicate the same with his team.

Many commented about how Luka should have shown better leadership and verbally communicated with Christain Wood. However, it isn’t entirely his fault, and the Slim Reaper knew it.

With the latest technologies and copious amounts of data being used, it was no surprise that the Bucks found this play and knew about it. Kevin Durant standing up for Luka Doncic is impressive and shows the camaraderie everyone expects to see in the NBA.

How has Luka fared with the same play so far this season?

Luka’s plays failed to help the Mavs win the game in the two instances mentioned in the video. Luka missed his shot against the Pelicans in the first one, resulting in a 113-111 Pels win. In the second instance, Luka failed to score the go-ahead shot for the Mavs over the Thunder. The game went to OT, and Thunder secured a 117-111 win.

Last night, the same happened, and the Bucks went home with the 106-105 win. Maybe Jason Kidd and co. need to draw a different play for the end of the games.
