Mick Schumacher to join forces with his godfather Sebastian Vettel for this legendary tournament
The Race of Champions is one of the biggest events in motorsports. Top drivers from multiple countries participate, making it a spectacle to view for the fans.
The tournament’s inaugural season happened in 1988, and since then, it has only amassed popularity. The event usually happens at the end of the year, and that’s why even some top F1 drivers also appear.
Since they are in their leisure time because of the off-season, they usually manage to participate unless their respective teams have some concerns over their drivers’ safety to risk themselves in an event not related to them.

Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel are to team up again
Last year, team Germany had Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher. And for this season, the two will be again teaming up to compete for their nation as per the recent reports.
Though the difference was last year, both had active F1 careers. But ahead of 2023, none of the two drivers has a driving spot. Vettel has opted to retire from the sport, and Haas axed Schumacher at the end of this season.

Thus, their participation in another racing competition for two days wouldn’t bother anyone. Though Schumacher is now a reserve driver at Mercedes, the Silver Arrows would be glad to have him active behind the wheel.
Moreover, he would be representing Mercedes’ home nation. That would benefit the Brackley-based team from this move by their new driver.
Schumacher sees no future with Ferrari
The 23-year-old F1 driver had a tough year in 2022. Moreover, with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc being a stable partnership at Ferrari, there was no scope for Schumacher to get a rise in his F1 career.
So, he decided to leave the Ferra drivers’ academy at the end of this season. That left Haas with no obligation to keep Schumacher owing their relations with Ferrari.
Ultimately, he lost his F1 seat at Haas, but he got into Mercedes’ setup. With them, he could get a seat in some other team that shares cordial relations with Mercedes. But surely, Schumacher’s F1 career is at an uncertain place right now.
