Is Stephen Curry Playing Tonight vs Hawks? Warriors Release Injury Update for 2022 Finals MVP

Much to everyone’s surprise, the Golden State Warriors had a pretty horrific start to the campaign. The reigning NBA champions, despite Stephen Curry playing some of his best basketball, went 6-9 in the first 15 games.

The San Francisco-based franchise received yet another blow when their 2022 Finals MVP sustained a horrific injury that would sideline him for several weeks.

In the Warriors-Pacers 14th December clash, Curry finished the night with 38 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds. A few moments after the GSW loss, news broke out that the 2-time MVP suffered a subluxation of his left shoulder.

Having missed 8 of the team’s games since then, Steph’s availability for the clash against Atlanta Hawks is on every supporter’s mind.

Stephen Curry to be re-evaluated next week

10 days after Steph suffered the injury, the Golden State Warriors released an injury update. Stating that the 6-foot-3 guard is “making good progress”, the franchise’s statement read:

Stephen Curry, who suffered a subluxation of his left shoulder on December 14 at Indiana and has missed the team’s last four games, was recently re-evaluated.

The re-evaluation indicated that Stephen is making good progress. He will be re-evaluated again in two weeks.

What does this mean for SC30’s availability for the bout against the Hawks? Unfortunately, Steve Kerr’s boys will have to play without the services of their shifty guard.

 

The Warriors are clearly shorthanded for the clash. Apart from Steph, Andrew Wiggings, Kuminga, James Wiseman, and JaMychal Green will also be sitting out.

Yet again, the likes of Poole, Thompson, and Ty Jerome will have to carry most of the offensive load.
