“That’s a guy they traded for James Harden”: Jalen Rose goes off on Ben Simmons while bringing up a bizarre statistic

Since Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving teamed up in 2019, they haven’t had one successful season for the Brooklyn Nets, yet, the team never fails to disappoint the media. Now KD getting injured at a crucial time is bringing them in attendance for all the wrong reasons. And Ben Simmons is one of those reasons.

They are 1-4 in the 5 games since the Slim Reaper last played for them and sprained his MCL and is nowhere close to a return until mid-February.

In their last outing against the Jazz Kyrie’s 48-points brought them their first victory without KD but did not hide the glaring redundancy in the team which goes by the name of Simmons, who earns slightly less than Uncle Drew and is averaging 7.5 points per game this season.

Jalen Rose brings up a bizarre Ben Simmons stat

After they had lost all their 4 games following a 117-112 loss against the Suns, who themselves were not in good shape or form, ESPN analysts went off on Simmons for the money he is making and the efforts he is putting in.

Stephen A Smith said that the 6ft 9’ guard is stealing money not only with his $35 million+ contract this season, but also the 37 and 40 million contracts in the upcoming seasons.

Jalen Rose doubled down on the veteran analyst’s take and said, “that’s a guy they traded for James Harden.” The former Pacers star also brought up a stat about the Australian point guard, which showed he has had more fouls this season than shot attempts. Watch the whole thing here.

How can the Nets hold on until KD comes back?

They probably can not. Not only did the Nets have lost four out of their five outings, but they have also done it in such a way that shows they aren’t good enough to win 5 games without Durant if he misses 20.

That will have them struggling for keeping up with the .500 mark. All their 4 losses before the win in the last one were against a losing team. As they face the Warriors on Sunday, all the hope will again be on Irving to bring them a win.

Will Stephen Curry let that happen, we’ll have to wait and watch.
