Dwyane Wade and Ex-Wife, Siovaughn Funches Begin Trial With New Evidence Over Daughter Zaya Wade’s Transition
Dwyane Wade, the NBA legend, is something of a doting father. He has always been a model parent and when he took custody of his daughter Zaya Wade and encouraged her transition.
But things in that story are finding some obstacles. While Dwyane has firmly placed his support for his daughter and has spoken out publically many times about the same, his ex-wife, Siovaughn Funches thinks he is profiteering.
Yes, to think your own daughter’s transition will profit her father is something of a wildly unexpected and brash claim from the mother. And she has brought out new evidence to boot.
Siovaugn Funches showcases new evidence to thwart daughter Zaya’s transition
Just a few weeks ago, Funches furnished new evidence to the court. A copy of her divorce agreement with Dwyane Wade, where she claims there is new evidence.
The point, in particular, is that Dwyane is obligated to discuss and seek counsel from Siovaughn on “the major decisions affecting the care, welfare, activities, health, education, and religious upbringing of their two children.”
A point that she hopes will sway the judge’s decision. As they are back in court, we are eagerly waiting for the verdict
Why did Siovaugn go against Dwyane Wade?
She believes that Dwyane wants to benefit from his daughter’s transition. A monetary benefit. How so?
According to Funches, the argument is two-fold. Firstly, she accuses Wade of failing to communicate regarding the steps he had taken to initiate Zaya’s name change. And secondly, she had this to say,
“(he)may be pressuring our child to move forward with the name and gender change in order to capitalize on the financial opportunities that he has received from companies.”.
A bleak point. As the court case drags on, stay tuned to this space for more news on the same.
