After Getting a Mouthful From Aaron Rodgers, Ian Rapoport Gets Absolutely Grilled By Tom Pelissero

It is not rare to see reporters turn on each other, in a fun way. Often, talking at length about a game or a player can become a tad bit monotonous. To make sure the viewers are not dozing off, reporters often tend to do something fun while on air. Sometimes this comes at the expense of their co-reporters. Ian Rapoport found this out the hard way at the NFL owners’ meeting.

Rapoport was the subject of another scathing remark a month ago, courtesy of Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers. On ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Rodgers said, “I think Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport are really good at their jobs but when it comes to me they don’t know s–t”. The comment came in the wake of Rapport trying to pass off Rodgers’ darkness retreat days as a piece of insider information.

Mike Pelissero takes a swing at Ian Rapoport on air

In what is seen by many as a totally unnecessary dig at his co-reporter, Mike Pelissero pulled a fast one over Ian Rapoport during the coverage of the NFL owners’ meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. As Rapoprt was talking about Odell Beckham Jr. still being a free agent, Pelissero used that as a cue to take a low blow at him. At least, Rapoport took it in the fun way that it was probably intended to be.

“Big-time receiver, some of us are small-time insiders who are standing on a box to look the same height as the other guys,” Pelissero said. Co-reporter Steve Wyche quickly pointed out that he was the only one not standing on a box. When Pelissero prompted him to get down, Rapoport just said,  “I’m not embarrassed by the way, I am on a box.”

Which itself is gaining a lot of viewership for its unorthodox and free-flowing form of reporting. If not for the Rodgers incident, there would not have been any doubt about the credibility of the news that he brings forward for fans.

Rapoport was recently covering the NFL owners’ meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Many fans believe this meeting could potentially trigger the process to oust Commanders owner Dan Snyder. Though the Snyders have agreed to accept offers for the team, no significant progress has been made yet. What will be the news that comes out of this meeting? Will the NFL owners take some much-needed action against Snyder?
