Is Zion Williamson Playing Tonight vs Knicks?: Pelicans’ David Griffin Delivers Latest Update on Franchise Star
For Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, this is not a situation you despise. Sure, there is bad here. For instance, Zion Williamson has been injured with a hamstring ailment since January 2nd of this year. However, the franchise has also now won an astounding 8 of its last 10 games, and now sits 8th in the Western Conference.
Sure, here you could again say that the franchise was a top 3 seed at one point this season, and was even a considered contender. However, to that we say, they were also the 11th seed and almost looked too hopeless to make a push for even the play-in. Simply put, this is a glass-half-full kind of situation.
Even with that said though, it’d be beyond nice to have their star in Zion back out on the court. And as per reports, there have been positive steps taken here. However, have those steps been big enough to warrant an appearance against the New York Knicks tonight?
David Griffin gives an update on Zion Williamson’s health
For those that may not be aware, David Griffin is the executive vice president of basketball operations, for the New Orleans Pelicans. So, when it comes to information about when the man will be back, there would be no one in the world who’d know more than he does. And so, with the fans clamoring for any information on the situation, he recently had this to say.
“After further evaluation, it has been determined that Zion Williamson will continue his rehabilitation and conditioning regimen.
We will continue to monitor his progression, and updates will be provided as warranted.”

Aside from this, ESPN further reports that there is still no timeline in place for the man yet. So perhaps the only good news here is that the Pelicans star is progressing, and will hopefully make a return sometime in the postseason if the franchise can last long enough.
What did Zion Williamson average during this regular season?
In 29 games played, Zion Williamson averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. Additionally, the man shot 60.8% from the field, 36.8% from three, and 71.4% from the free-throw line.
