Virat Kohli wishes Team India ahead of Asia Cup 2018: Regular India captain wished the team well in his absence.

Ahead of India’s Asia Cup opener against Hong Kong at Dubai, regular captain Virat Kohli has expressed his best wishes to the team. As he had took to Twitter to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday, Kohli used the same platform to wish his team.

It is worth mentioning that citing his workload in mind, the selectors have rested Kohli for the Asia Cup. One of the players who play all formats of the game, this break was a much-needed one for Kohli. Moreover, his an injury before the India’s tour of England would have also asked for some additional rest.

In Kohli’s absence, Rohit Sharma will lead the side in the ongoing tournament. With him not in the side, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s role in the middle-order is likely to be enhanced, both in terms of batting and assisting Rohit Sharma on the field.

Other than today’s match, India will play Pakistan tomorrow at the same venue. In a match (matches) which is likely to be the highlight of the season, it will be watched across the globe for both the teams will be playing each other after more than a year.

Talking about Kohli, he is likely to return after the rest for the series against West Indies, which comprises of two Test matches, five ODIs and three T20Is. Beginning in the first week of October, Kohli is likely to lead the Indian team in across formats during that series.
