“Give Tom Brady Whatever He Wants”: Bill Belichick Runs Out of Words To Describe NFL GOAT’s Impact on New England
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick share a deep relationship, and the legendary head coach had no hesitation in sharing his gratitude to his former quarterback. Brady will be celebrated in New England this year on opening night. The Patriots will take on the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, but all eyes will be on Brady. The Pats will honor him, and Bill Belichick is thrilled to see his friend and old colleague again. However, he also believes one night won’t be enough for Brady.
Tom Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowls, became the winningest QB-coach duo in NFL history, and broke several other records in their 20 years together. They were unstoppable at the height of their powers, and they both greatly respect each other. Brady has a lot of memories in New England, and the Patriots are sure to give him a grand celebration. Bill Belichick was the one who gave Brady a chance as a sixth-round draft pick, and together, they achieved some remarkable things.
Bill Belichick Doesn’t Think Any Celebration is Enough for Tom Brady
While Brady has been celebrated throughout his career with various awards, victories, trophies, and more, the feeling of coming back to where it all started will hit differently.
It’ll be a magical night in Foxboro and fans will be lining up to make sure they see the NFL GOAT. Many fans are clamoring for management to build a Tom Brady statue outside Gillette Stadium to properly commemorate him.
Bill Belichick was asked about this, and he had a very simple reaction.

Without Brady, the Patriots’ history looks very different. Bill Belichick knows it, and he made sure he didn’t hold back in his praise for the former quarterback.
The Bulls have a Michael Jordan statue outside the United Center. A Brady statue outside Gillette would carry the same weight. It’s hard to imagine that Brady never gets a statue. Peyton Manning has a statue outside Lucas Oil Stadium too.
Belichick Couldn’t Stop Gushing Praise About Brady
Bill Belichick was asked about Brady on the WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show, and he didn’t hold back when it came to Brady. “I look forward to seeing him, and I’m sure there will be a lot of excitement at the game, in the stands, as there should be,” Belichick said on the show, as per CBS. “I always look forward to seeing Tom. What a great experience and opportunity it was for me to coach him. I have a tremendous appreciation for what he did for our team and everything he gave us.”
“He’s done an awful lot for this organization, this franchise, this city, and the NFL. One night is probably not anywhere close to enough for the appreciation Tom deserves,” Belichick went on. “I feel very fortunate to have coached Tom, Lawrence Taylor, and Matthew Slater — the top three players at their positions in the history of the game. I feel pretty lucky as a coach. Great players make great coaches and I’m very fortunate.”
Belichick truly was privileged to have had someone like Brady during his career, but their relationship was symbiotic. Belichick put Brady in the best position to succeed, and he did just that.
