‘Compulsive Competitor’ Michael Jordan Adds $462,318 to $3.5 Billion Worth After a 75-Pound Pickup on ‘Catch 23’
Michael Jordan has done it again. Even though he retired from basketball 20 years ago, the competitive spirit inside ‘His Airness’ hasn’t gone down even a slight bit. Recently, he boosted his net worth to $3.5 Billion after selling his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets. Ever since then, Jordan has been devoting his time to other activities. One of those activities was the Mid-Atlantic Fishing Tournament. With a prize pool of $5.79 Million, it was no surprise that Jordan’s Catch 23 was present.
While it looks like Jordan returned home empty-handed from the Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament, the tournament took place earlier this month and had a prize pool of $10,300,000. Jordan and his $8 Million Catch 23 were there for a 4th straight year. However, fate smiled differently on the Compulsive Competitor this time, as he took on the waters with an extra $1.5 Billion to his name and emerged victorious with a $462,318 payday.

Taking part in the Mid Atlantic Fishing tournament, we’re sure Jordan and his crew had their eyes set on the $5.79 Million prize pool. The same amount was distributed amongst the top 3 winners within the dozen categories. Michael Jordan’s Catch 23 came in third, as they reeled in a 75-pound White Marlin.
This pickup got them a cash prize of $462,318. What’s astonishing is that they missed out on the second prize by merely a single pound. When the tournament posted the photo of the team with their fish, Michael Jordan was nowhere to be seen.
This raised a few questions amongst fans, who wondered where the GOAT was.

Michael Jordan and his Catch 23 have been on the waters, fishing for sport for 4 years now. In his very first year at the tournament, MJ and the Catch 23 crew took part in the Blue Marlin category, picking up a massive 442.3 lbs Blue Marlin.

Unfortunately, despite the size, the fish came short and Jordan and his crew missed out on the prize. Even though MJ doesn’t have his Hornets anymore, he still stays competitive through Catch 23 and 23XI Racing.
