4 Years Before Calling Michael Jordan His ‘Hero’, Mesmerized Lewis Hamilton Called LeBron James His GOAT
During the 2022 Miami Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton called Michael Jordan his hero. As Jordan, the NBA legend, posed with Hamilton’s father, he put a caption on his official Instagram story and posted the photo where he called both of them his heroes. However, 4 years before this incident, Hamilton called LeBron James, another NBA legend, the Greatest of All Time.
Every sport has one debate in common: the GOAT debate. In F1 fans argue between Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, whereas in soccer names of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi pop up. NBA is no different, and the names of Michael Jordan and LeBron James are always up for debate.

Nevertheless, it seems like Hamilton is in awe of both the legends of the NBA instead of just taking one side, that too after calling James the greatest multiple times.
Lewis Hamilton calls LeBron James the GOAT
Back in 2018, the Golden State Warriors took on James’ Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The Warriors got the better of Cavaliers, defeating them 4-0. However, James was one of the most prolific players in the match, even though he was on the losing side.
Hamilton, taking a video from this match where James was seen in a thumping fashion, uploaded a post on his Instagram. There, in the post, he wrote, “@KingJames is the GOAT.”

LeBron James has been a sensational figure in American sports and a legend of the NBA.
Is James the ultimate GOAT for Hamilton?
As Lewis Hamilton called the Los Angeles Lakers star GOAT on his Instagram back in 2018, it wasn’t the first time he did that. After James overtook Kareem Abdul Jabbar as the highest-scoring NBA player, he posted the achievement on his Instagram as well and called him the greatest again.
Apart from this, the Mercedes driver also picked the Lakers star over Steph Curry, who is regarded as the best shooter in the history of the sport, in an ESPN video from 2020.
All in all, Hamilton’s admiration for LeBron James is on a whole new level even though he likes other athletes such as Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, or Tom Brady with whom he shares amicable bonding.
