“Wanna See Joel Embiid vs the Joker!”: Deion Sanders Speaks to the Sixers Days After Nikola Jokic Claimed to Not Know Him
The Philadelphia 76ers are hard at work ahead of the 2023-2024 season. Taking their practice sessions to the University of Colorado Boulder, the team met up with Deion Sanders. Coach Prime is doing some exceptional work in Boulder and welcomed the players with open arms. He took a particular interest in Joel Embiid and advised the 2023 MVP ahead of the upcoming season. He also mentioned how he hopes to see Embiid take on Nikola Jokic, just days after the latter claimed to not know him.
The Sixers took a three-hour flight to travel across the country. Setting up shop in the home of the Buffaloes, the team is doing their best to prepare for the Denver altitude. So far, things are looking good, as training camp seems to be treating everyone well. The presence of Coach Prime is a huge bonus. After all, it’s a rare chance to learn from one of the greatest athletes of all time.
Deion Sanders claims he wants to see Joel Embiid go head-to-head with Nikola Jokic
The two best centers in the NBA today are undoubtedly Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. The 2023 MVP and the 2023 NBA Champion are exceptionally gifted at their position and have impressed many. This includes NFL legend and head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders.
Coach Prime recently shared some pearls of wisdom with the Philadelphia 76ers. The franchise paid a visit to Colorado for training camp, where they ran into the two-time Super Bowl Champion. Here, he spoke about a variety of different things with the team including some of the matchups he would like to see.
This is where he spoke directly to Jojo, making it clear that he wants to watch him take on the Joker on the big stage. A matchup that would undeniably be a big money draw, especially if they went head-to-head in the NBA Finals.
“Don’t sell me the game like this is what I’m going to get. But, when I turn on the TV I don’t get that. I don’t like that. Give me that! Give me Embiid versus the Joker. I wanna see [Joel] Embiid vs. the Joker! Alright, I wanna see that!”
It certainly would be incredible to see the two big men match up in the Finals. They’ve been clashing over the last three years for the MVP. Why not take it to the next level, raise the stakes, and duke it out for an NBA Championship?
Nikola Jokic claims he does not know anything about Coach Prime
Deion Sander may be excited to see Joel Embiid take on Nikola Jokic, but the latter has no idea who he is. Just days before meeting up with The Process, the topic of Coach Prime was brought up during Denver Nuggets Media Day. Here, one reporter asked the Joker if he knew anything about the NFL legend.
With a bewildered expression, Jokic responded to the question with a shake of his head and a simple “sorry”. A hilarious response, especially considering Prime Time is one of the biggest names in the state of Colorado today.

Perhaps the reason for this was that Jokic has been out of the United States for quite a while. Fortunately for him, he has plenty of time to acquaint himself with the NFL Hall of Famer. After all, there is no way Prime Time is coaching in Colorado without going to see the NBA Champions perform.
