“Kyle Kuzma’s Not My Friend Anymore”: Former Wizards’ Teammate Spencer Dinwiddie Addressed ‘Beef’ With 2020 Champion
Spencer Dinwiddie isn’t the kind of player that one would expect to have serious beef with anyone. But the ex-Wizards player has had some beef boiling with Wizards teammate Kyle Kuzma. While on the Pat Bev podcast, Dinwiddie shared some interesting insights on his relationship with Kuz.
The beef between the two has been running for about a year now. The two had shared a locker room in Washington and played together for a season. Though the minute details of why Dinwiddie started the beef aren’t clear, he has made it apparent that the two starters are no longer ‘ friends’.
The Spencer Dinwiddie and Kyle Kuzma saga
The whole matter started when Spencer Dinwiddie made comments about his ex-teammates after a tough loss to the Wizards. During the press conference, Dinwiddie said, “They’re not playing for nothing for real… for them it’s a showcase. They’re over there trying to get paid, not trying to play winning basketball.”
Kuzma would soon respond on Twitter by tweeting, “They don’t play winning basketball “, hinting at the fact that the Mavericks and Dinwiddie were yet to win any silverware.
The funny thing is they don’t play winning basketball 🤣🤣🤣✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽👋🏽🤡 https://t.co/O4klCwulLG

Dinwiddie would later clarify during an interview with Fan Duel,
“There’s a lot of guys in the NBA that really pour their heart and soul into basketball. There are a lot of guys that have different things that drive and motivate them. I think if we look at him and the way he approaches life, fame, all that stuff, his priorities tend to vary. That’s why he dressed the way he does. That’s why he approached basketball the way he does — the comments he makes. Like I said with the Draymond quote, insecurity is loud. You know that you’re there shooting shots to get a contact. You’re probably not even a third star, really, on a good team. Because if you were the Lakers would’ve kept you. Part of the reason you left was to try to make more money. These are all things that are facts.”

The response came late, as Dinwiddie was asked to step down by his agent. Dinwiddie also went on the Pat Bev Podcast, where he addresses the beef with Kuz, telling the two co-hosts,
“You known how it goes in locker rooms. Certain things happen. At the time. My agent said I couldn’t say nothing. So it got to a place where I was tierd of hearing about it. And so I said my honest feelings and I don’t walk back anything that I said, but thats just kind where it is……. Its funny though, because, like, I am a guy that really don’t have no people that I have no real beef with or anything like that. But yeah, he’s [Kyle Kuzma] not my friend. “
Kuz responds to Dinwiddie in a long Twitter thread
Kyle Kuzma and Spencer Dinwiddie have started a beef and it doesn’t seem like either one of them is interested in ending it anytime soon. Dinwiddie, who recently addressed the beef on Patrick Beverly’s podcast, did so after Kuz posted a long thread of replies to Dinwiddie’s comments about him.
In the thread, Kyle addressed the fact that his style and fame, aren’t a cover-up for his insecurity. Kuz even implied that Dinwiddie isn’t a second option on any team, as in Brooklyn Kyrie and Kevin Durant lifted most of the offensive load. With the beef having heated up over the past few months, it would interesting to see what happens when the two meet again.
