Is Giannis Antetokounmpo Playing Tonight Against The Heat (Feb 23rd)?
After missing almost 3 weeks with a calf strain, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s return to the Bucks starting lineup has reaped solid rewards. They’ve won 2 in a row and are slowly going into the final 2 months of the season with a relatively healthy squad.
With the team getting ready to host the Miami Heat tonight, Giannis’ injury report has given the fans of the team something to look forward to after the news of Bobby Portis’ suspension broke.
The calf strain is still not fully healed, but the Bucks have listed Giannis as probable for the matchup. This is nothing to worry about though because he played through a probable diagnosis against the Wizards on Wednesday as well.
Bucks injury report for Sunday vs. Miami:
Out:
Pat Connaughton (Left Calf Strain)
Bobby Portis (League Suspension)Probable:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Left Calf Strain)
Damian Lillard (Right Hamstring Strain)
Taurean Prince (Left Ankle Sprain)
Gary Trent Jr. (Left Knee Contusion)— Eric Nehm (@eric_nehm) February 22, 2025
The Bucks have lost just a single game more than the Indiana Pacers who sit in the 4th spot. And with the Indy side set to play the Clippers tonight, the Bucks have a perfect opportunity to leap ahead of them with a win.
The last time Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks played the Heat, the Greek Freak put up 25 and 12, leading his side to a convincing 125-96 win. Bucks fans will be hoping he can do something similar tonight, as the Heat haven’t had the best record since Jimmy Butler left for the Warriors.
With Giannis’ fellow All-Star Damian Lillard also listed as probable, they have a strong lineup to field tonight. An additional boost will be trade deadline acquisition Kyle Kuzma’s recent upturn in form.
The former Laker is averaging 16 points in a Bucks uniform, and his presence has been an underrated aspect of the three-game win streak they find themselves on right now.
