Chris Jericho says he isn’t done with NJPW. The former AEW Champion named a list of dream matches he still wants to have with the NJPW roster.
Before officially leaving WWE and joining AEW, Chris Jericho had a brief stint with NJPW. He even won their IWGP Intercontinental Championship. He also appeared on their show with the AEW World Championship facing Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom last year.
While speaking to TSN, Jericho claimed that he wasn’t finished with the Japanese promotion. He listed a few names that he still wanted to wrestle against. He even suggested current AEW World Champion Kenny Omega could team up with him in the main event at Tokyo Dome.
Chris Jericho says he isn’t done with NJPW
“There’s a lot of unfinished business for me in New Japan. Jay White is one [potential opponent], [Minoru] Suzuki is another one that would draw big money. Kota Ibushi and [Will] Ospreay — those four guys I’d love to work with. I’d love to do a ‘Golden Jets’ team — Kenny and Jericho — versus [Kazuchika] Okada and Ibushi or [Hiroshi] Tanahashi and Okada or Tanahashi and Ibushi.
“I think that’s a Tokyo Dome main event right there. So there’s a lot of stuff I’d still like to do in New Japan and as soon as we can start going over there again, I’m more than agreeable to doing more work there. I really enjoyed the six matches that I had there in 2018 and 2019 and think there’s plenty of room for more.”
Hopefully fans will get to see Jericho fight in NJPW once again. For now, he is scheduled to be on Double or Nothing. His faction, The Inner Circle, will fight The Pinnacle, in a Stadium Stampede match. If the Inner Circle lose, they must disband as a team forever.
