Alexa Bliss to take on Bayley for the SmackDown women’s championship at Extreme Rules in a Stomping Grounds Rematch.

Bayley took on Alexa Bliss with her SmackDown Women’s championship on the line at Stomping Grounds. Bliss won her opportunity at the championship after she bested both Charlotte Flair and Carmella in a triple threat match.

The 5-time women’s champion bought Nikki Cross to stand in her corner. She had hoped that Cross would be instrumental in her winning the Blue Belt for the third time in her career. However, she would be the undoing of Alexa as she unintentionally caused Bliss her loss by interfering in the match.

Cross does it for Bliss

Cross then promised Bliss that she would do anything to help her get a rematch against Bayley. She informed her that she was set to take on Bayley at SmackDown. And if she won, Bliss would get a second chance at the SmackDown title.

Bliss looked less than convinced at Cross’s abilities to win the match. However, Nikki’s sheer determination and resilience saw her beat the SmackDown championship. With that Victory, Alexa Bliss’ new best friend ensured that Bliss’ ticket to Extreme Rules.

In a WWE.com exclusive interview, a stoked Cross was seen attempting to inform Bliss of her victory as her calls kept going to her voice mail. Cathy Kelly, the interviewer asked Cross how she felt after the victory considering the opportunity at the championship went to Alexa instead of her.

Cross looked shook for a moment like she had just realized what had happened. However, she went back to her normal self and said that all that mattered was Alexa getting her rematch. She paused for a second before saying once again that ‘that was all that mattered’.

Extreme Rules will take place on July 14, 2019, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
