Arsenal 3-2 Aston Villa: 3 talking points after Gunners snatches three points against Aston Villa

Arsenal’s biggest enemy presently is its defence, in the last 6 games in the league, Arsenal have conceded 10 goals, a pretty poor record for a side, which is aiming to land at the sixth position.

Furthermore, this game was also no different, as Aston Villa literally toyed with Arsenal’s defence, in both the goals conceded by the Gunners, defenders were nowhere to rescue or else they could have been thwarted.

In the first goal, David Luiz left John Mcginn unmarked, which allowed him to kick the ball inside the net without receiving any challenge, and he did not delay by taking unnecessary touches. Indeed, a good finish, but could have been avoided if Luiz had noticed.

On the second occasion, Arsenal’s defence was outrun by Jack Grealish with his superb dribble, and he found Wesley inside the box to make it 2-1. In both the instances, defence was at fault, and if it had been a better side, Arsenal would have lost the match.

It did not end here, Arsenal looked shaky even after achieving a lead to ultimately win the match, there were moments of error but Arsenal were fortunate enough to miss them or else they could have lost the hard-earned three points.
