Brandon Ingram unhappy with Lakers, seeking move away

A 4 game losing streak for the Lakers has almost wiped off their chances of making it to the playoffs. Reports suggest that LeBron James has been handed out a minutes restriction for the rest of the season.

With the Lakers now almost certain to embrace ‘tanking’ and prepare for the draft, the management is certainly focussed on the future and not on the present.

The players too must have gotten a message regarding the same and would be assessing their options for the next season.

LeBron James and the Lakers reportedly put the entire Lakers young core up for the Anthony Davis trade; a move that divided the locker room.

The young core felt betrayed and weren’t quite confident in what the future held for them.

Since the trade deadline has passed, Lakers have looked like a disjointed unit, failing to create any sort of impact on the court.

Amidst all this chaos, Brandon Ingram has been the only shining light for the Lakers, putting up a good show and keeping team from blowing away the Lakers.

Ingram unhappy in LA

However, it seems like Ingram’s tryst with the Lakers is about to come to an end, as he is unhappy his position, and wants to move away.

Stephen A Smith has confirmed that according to his sources, Ingram’s father is looking for a move away from LA.

“You’re hearing noise now that Brandon Ingram is not happy and that his father is talking to folks…” Stephen A Smith confirmed

Now, while the Lakers wanted to trade Ingram away earlier, his performances in the last few weeks suggest that he could finally be coming off age.

Having drawn comparisons with Kevin Durant during his rookie year in the NBA, Ingram hasn’t quite lived up to expectations until now, but if he turns out to be a late bloomer, the Lakers will regret it big time(provided they trade him away).

Ingram was one of those hurt by the Anthony Davis trade saga, according to the reports. Now, at a time when the Lakers don’t seem to be doing too well for themselves, and an impending Anthony Davis trade saga coming in; Ingram would love to assess his options before hand.

For the time being, he would be hoping that he could increase his market value by putting in a good shift for the Lakers in the final stretch of the regular season.

Currently the Lakers don’t stand a realistic chance of making it to the playoffs, but if Ingram can play out of his skin and show the NBA world what he is capable of, the summer could be an interesting one for him.
