Club Brugge goal vs Man Utd: Emmanuel Bonaventure scores a cheeky lob from 25 yards out during the Europa League round of 32 tie.

Club Brugged landed the first strike during their clash with Manchester United on their home turf. Despite dominating possession, the Red Devils failed to make any real threat. On the other hand, the hosts managed to make their opportunity count.

It will surely hurt United that the goal came from Manchester United’s corner. Goal Keeper Simon Mignolet collected the ball and found Emmanuel Bonaventure with a long ball. United shot stopper Sergio Romero was well off his line and the forward beautifully lobbed the ball over the Argentine’s head to find the back of the net.

United have equalized through Anthony Martial since. However, the Red Devils look shaken since conceding the goal. As has been United’s story all through this campaign, they have had a majority of the possession but are unable to do much with it.

Club Brugge on the other hand, are happily waiting for space on the counter and, so far, tearing the English team apart with quick passing.

The two clubs have faced each other twice before with United winning 3-1 away and 4-0 at home in 2015-16 Champions League qualifying rounds. However, the hosts have only lost once domestically all season and are showing the visitors why they are currently 9 points clear at the top of their league.
