CM Punk: Former WWE Star jokes on AEW Rumors and wrestling return speculations

CM Punk: Former WWE Star jokes on AEW Rumors and wrestling return speculations on Twitter yesterday afternoon.

There have been rumors that former WWE Champion and MMA Star CM Punk has been pursued by both the WWE and AEW this year. Dave Meltzer had earlier reported on a late April edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that   Punk was the first wrestler Tony Khan wanted to sign; even before Chris Jericho or The Young Bucks themselves. WWE Hall of famer X-Pac even guaranteed that CM Punk would wrestle for AEW later this year.

Speculations are rife that the upcoming AEW Pay-per-View. Double or nothing, will feature Punk. This is despite Punk doing announcer work for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships MMA event at Coachella, CA on the same day.

CM Punk took to twitter to reference the speculations regarding his wrestling return and AEW debut.

He also made a hilarious comment on AEW’s Luchasaurus. The fan joked about Punk being behind the Luchasaurus mask; referencing the video of a masked man appearing at an Indie event and performing the GTS. The masked man was later confirmed as Punk.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
