Currently playing an ODI against Ireland in Southampton, England will start playing a Test match against Pakistan in Manchester in a bid to accommodate the sport across formats in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Set to play two different formats with two different teams within a 12-hour gap, it will be the first time when England will play two international matches across formats against different opponents on consecutive days.

Coming on the back of a 2-1 series victory against West Indies, the hosts would be looking to emulate their form despite uncertainty over vice-captain Ben Stokes’ all-round role in the team.

As far as Pakistan are concerned, them winning four out of their last 10 Test matches against England in England has it in it to provide them much-needed boost ahead of the series.

With some of their players been in England for more than a month now, one expects them to adjust to the conditions quickly than before even with playing only intra-squad matches in the name of warm-up games.

Although with a lesser percentage (40%), there are chances of rain playing spoilsport on the second day as well. Heavy clouds on Thursday might witness some showers as well.

Apart from the first two days, the weather should remain bright and sunny throughout the duration of the match giving both teams enough time to force a result.
