The inaugural season of the Major League Cricket and the third season of the Global T20 Canada will be the first-ever instance of a couple of T20 leagues running simultaneously in North America. Thus, hinting at the expansion of the shortest format in what could prove to be a commercially profiting territory.

Brampton Wolves hosting Mississauga Panthers at the CAA Centre in the season opener will bring GT20 back into cricketing landscape four years after the second season was held at the same venue.

Apart from the gap in terms of time, what the COVID-19 pandemic has also taken away from the competition is a couple of teams named Winnipeg Hawks (champions in 2019) and Edmonton Royals. As a result, Panthers and Surrey Jaguars will be making their respective debuts in the imminent season.

In addition to two new teams, the format of the tournament has also undergone a rejig. Hence, each team will now be playing seven matches (two each against two teams and one against the remaining three teams) in a 21-match league round.

Global T20 Canada 2023 Live Telecast In India

As was the case in 2019, Star Sports Network will be broadcasting Global T20 Canada 2023 in India according to an official tweet by GT20 Canada. However, Star are yet to upload any social media post with respect to the same.

Therefore, Indian fans are suggested to browse through Star’s sports portfolio during match timings to watch the match live on a television channel. With dynamics regarding Indian broadcasters changing in these four years, it wouldn’t have been a surprise had a T20 league featuring numerous top-notch T20 players not had a television channel for the Indian audiences.

Streaming platform FanCode, meanwhile, will be live streaming all the 25 matches of this season with a paid subscription. For fans who still don’t have a subscription, they can avail a tour pass by paying INR 89 on the website or mobile application of FanCode. It is to be noted that there is neither an in-app discount nor a one-match pass for this season of the GT20 Canada.

Match Start Time – 01:00 AM and 08:30 PM (India).
