“Green and Starc will definitely miss”: Pat Cummins confirms Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc are out of Sydney Test after winning Boxing Day test vs South Africa
Australia yet again proved that they are almost unbeatable in their home conditions by hammering South Africa in the Boxing Day test. Not even for a moment, the South African team was in the match, and they lost the match on day four itself.
The hosts won the match, but this certainly came at a cost. Mitchell Starc injured his finger on the first day of the match while attempting a catch, but he still came to bowl for his side in the 2nd innings. Cameron Green suffered a fracture, but he still came out to score a half-century with the bat.
David Warner was playing his 100th test, and he made it count by scoring a double-century. He was struggling a lot on a warm day in Melbourne but proved that why is one of the best to play the game. It is certain that Australia will miss a few of their players in the Sydney test.
Pat Cummins confirms Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc are out of Sydney Test
Australian captain Pat Cummins was delighted upon Australia’s win in the Boxing Day test. He said that this is one of the best wins of Australian cricket. Cummins praised all of his players for the efforts they put into the match. He insists that Alex Carey has certainly cemented his place in the squad.
Warner scored a double-century in the match despite facing a lot of cramps during the innings, whereas Smith also played a great knock despite facing some blows to his body. Cummins said that both Smith and Warner were quite gutsy along with Starc and Green, who played despite injuries.
“I thought how Warner and Smith batted in the heat was pretty gutsy. Starc and Green as well, put their injuries behind and turned up,” Pat Cummins said to Fox Cricket.

Starc and Green played in the match despite getting injured, but Cummins has confirmed that both of them will be missing the last test of the series in Sydney. Nathan Lyon also landed heavily while fielding, but Cummins believes that he will be okay to play at the SCG.
“He’s (Lyon) good to go, just winded himself. Starc and Green will definitely miss the Sydney Test,” Cummins added.
