India cricket schedule 2022-23: India next cricket match schedule and fixtures

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the year 2022 has been a forgettable one for the Indian cricket team. India, who played a total of 71 matches across formats throughout the year, won 46, lost 21 and were part of one drawn contest.

Having said that, don’t let these overall numbers mislead you in any way. Anyone who has closely followed the Indian cricket team this year doesn’t even need a deep dive into numbers to come to a conclusion how one of the best international cricket teams played way below their potential in the last 12 months.

On paper, India have won four and lost three out of their seven Tests this year. While their two Test wins each came against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the sub-continent conditions, their three losses came against South Africa and England away from home.

Out of the 24 ODIs that he played in 2022, India won 14 and lost eight matches including losing bilateral series in South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Much like other teams in an ICC T20 World Cup year, India also participated largely in the shortest format to win 28 and lose 10 out of their 40 T20Is. Having said that, these 10 defeats saw them losing Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022. In spite of winning bilateral series in England, Ireland and New Zealand, India ended up losing both their multi-nation tournaments.

With a whole lot of cricket to be played next year including hosting an ICC Cricket World Cup, India would want to make amends under captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid.
