KL Rahul century today Twitter reactions: IPL 2022 century players list

KL Rahul century today: The captain of Lucknow Super Giants led from the front at the Wankhede Stadium tonight.

During the 37th match of the ongoing 15th season of the Indian Premier League between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians in Mumbai, Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul has scored his fourth IPL century to play a titular role in his team scoring 168/6 in 20 overs after being invited to bat first by MI captain Rohit Sharma.

Opening the batting with wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock (10), Rahul played through the innings where all his other batting partners failed to make a mark at the Wankhede Stadium.

Rahul’s sixth T20 century is his second for Lucknow and third against Mumbai. While Rahul has joined the likes of David Warner and Jos Buttler with four IPL centuries, he is only behind his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates in Virat Kohli (5) and Chris Gayle (6).

Rahul, who had scored three fours in as many overs of the powerplay, didn’t hit another boundary for almost six overs before hitting Jaydev Unadkat for a six. Rahul, who hit a couple of boundaries off Mumbai Indians fast bowler Riley Meredith right at the halfway mark, completed a 37-ball half-century in the next over.

Having hit consecutive boundaries against the likes of Daniel Sams, Jasprit Bumrah and Unadkat in the second half of the innings, Rahul put together a one-man show in this phase of his knock.

It was on the first delivery of the last over that Rahul hit Meredith for a six to reach the three-figure mark. The 30-year old player returned to the pavilion after scoring 103* (62) with the help of 12 fours and four sixes.
