According to various reports, Kohli was fined INR 1.07 crore for the same. However, according to Cricbuzz, the fine will be fully paid by the franchise only. Kohli has a unique bond with the franchise and he is the only player who has represented just one franchise since the inaugural edition of the IPL.
Kohli has been in brilliant form for RCB this season with the bat, and his aggression and energy on the field has lifted the side as well. In the absence of captain Faf du Plessis, Kohli even led the side and he was excellent as a leader in all of those games.
Match Fee of Virat Kohli
Kohli is currently on an INR 15 crore per season contract with RCB. Each team will definitely play a minimum of 14 league matches in the tournament. By that calculation, Kohli earns around INR 1.07 crore per match (INR 1,07,14,287.5 to be precise). In the initial three editions of IPL (2008-2010), Kohli earned just around INR 12 Lakh per season.
From 2011 to 2013, Kohli’s contract was around INR 8.28 crore, it then rose to INR 12.50 crore (2014-2017) to INR 17 crore (2018-2021). He was retained ahead of IPL 2022 auction for a price of INR 15 crore. He is the highest run-scorer in the history of IPL.
Kohli became the franchise’s regular captain in 2013 and he left the captaincy ahead of the last season. du Plessis was then made the new captain of the side. Any talk of RCB is incomplete without Kohli’s mention.

However, RCB paid Kohli a price of INR 17 crore to retain his service, the highest ever in the tournament’s history at that time (apart from players signed in the auction).
