"Some things don't change": Fans awed as Virender Sehwag scores first-ball boundary in Road Safety World Series 2021

Virender Sehwag scores first-ball boundary: The former Indian opening batsman resumed competitive sport in the same way that he is known for.

During the ongoing match of the inaugural season of the Road Safety World Series between India Legends and Bangladesh Legends in Raipur, India Legends opening batsman Virender Sehwag left his fans in awe with his fearless batting.

Chasing a paltry 110-run target, Sehwag opened the batting with captain Sachin Tendulkar. Known for starting an innings with a first-ball boundary, Sehwag didn’t miss the opportunity of replicating the same at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.

Having found the gap on the off-side on the first two deliveries that he faced, Sehwag then smashed Bangladesh Legends captain Mohammad Rafique over long-on for his first six.

On the penultimate delivery of the over, Sehwag hit his third boundary and dealt similarly in the following over to reach 29* (12) making all of this look effortless. Playing competitive cricket after almost a year, Sehwag didn’t appear to have lost his mojo as finding the boundaries didn’t look much of a concern for him.

It was in the fifth over that Sehwag thwacked Bangladesh Legends pacer Alamgir Kabir for a couple of fours and a six to register a 20-ball half-century.
