The ninth match of the ongoing inaugural season of The Hundred (Women’s) between Manchester Originals and Northern Superchargers in Manchester became the first match of the tournament to get abandoned due to rain.
Torrential downpour and lightning over Old Trafford didn’t even allow for the toss to happen leave alone a single ball being bowled.

With a men’s match to be played at the same venue in less than three hours from now, all eyes are on the weather conditions for the last thing which fans would be hoping for are two abandoned matches in one day.

Readers must note that inclement weather conditions have it in them to play spoilsport in the second match of the day as well. While one can’t confirm about the match getting washed out in totality at this point in time, it is likely to get affected. Hence, don’t be surprised if there’s a loss of balls in this match.

If AccuWeather’s weather forecast in Manchester is to be believed, there’s a yellow warning for rain in the city. Scheduled to begin at 18:30 hours (local time), the match might start on time amidst a solid cloud cover.
Having said that, rain is expected to pour down around 20:00 hours as the rain probability will jump from 47% to 64%. An update which won’t be appreciated much by the fans is that the weather is likely to remain that way as the night will progress.
