CSK vs KKR 2019

CSK vs KKR 2019: The Sportsrush presents before you three intriguing player battles ahead of the 23rd match of IPL 2019.

The Chennai Super Kings have continued to perform up to the expectation of their fans in spite of all the hurdles that they faced in their way in the form of injuries to crucial players. Under the able leadership of MS Dhoni, they persevere and impress constantly. They are in a great position and would love to continue this form.

The Knight Riders from Kolkata are in the exact same position as their opponents. They have performed beyond expectations and they would really want to maintain their hard-earned position at the top of the table.

Dinesh Karthik, who will be playing on his domestic cricket home ground, would use his knowledge of the conditions to have the best strategy.

Let us have a look at some of the player battles on display during this exciting contest:

Imran Tahir vs Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn has started striking the ball beautifully once again. He scored a quickfire 50 in the last game to take KKR close to victory and looks to have found his rhythm.

However, it is well known that he struggles against qualitys spinners and Imran Tahir, CSK’s leading wicket-taker, would look to spin the ball away from him on the low Chepauk wicket. He has been prone to falling prey to spinners especially on such tracks.

Let us see if Lynn comes up with any interesting strategy to tackle this like he did last year when he tried to sweep every ball of every spinner.

MS Dhoni vs Kuldeep Yadav

How often have we seen Dhoni guide Kuldeep from behind the stumps when they play for India? Kuldeep has always
maintained that Dhoni gives him incredible advice and the former Indian skipper has been all praise for the young chinaman at all times.

However, come Tuesday, Kuldeep Yadav will bowl his heart out in a bid to get his mentor, who is in superb touch, out. Even during the previous IPL, Kuldeep had mentioned his wish of getting this prized wicket. That was not to happen last year but will it happen this year? Let us wait and watch.

Kedar Jadhav vs Harry Gurney

During the last match that CSK played, it seemed Jadhav had been assigned a new role of playing the finisher alongside Dhoni in the absence of Bravo. While Jadhav has been a good finisher in the past, he might find it difficult to put the latest debutant in the IPL away for too many runs.

Gurney, the Man of the Match against RR, has a number of variations up his sleeve and might be vicious during the death overs especially on a low and slow pitch like the one in Chennai. Whether Jadhav manages to clear him out of the ground or Gurney continues his dream start to the IPL, it will be surely exciting to watch.
