Cyberpunk 2077 releases Hotfix 1.06 that removes the 8 MB save file limit and more!

Patch update 1.06 was released less than a week after Patch 1.05. CDPR seems to be working around the clock to make things right with its crown jewel. Here is what was fixed with this update.

Consoles might not be as much of a letdown as before…

The following changes were made to the game:

  • Quests: Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during second conflict.
  • Console-specific changes: Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.
  • PC-specific changes: Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. NOTE: This won’t fix the corrupted save files before the update.

How big is the file size of the upcoming patch?

Going from Patch 1.05 to Patch 1.06, the update is a 509 MB download on GOG and a 993 MB update on Steam. However, other sources are saying that the update file size is actually 9 GB for PC and 17 GB for consoles. Our guess would be that this is for the people that haven’t downloaded recent patch updates.

What are the outtakes from all these updates?

The game should be well-optimized for consoles by early January. We recommend that you stick with Cyberpunk and the remainder of its bugs for a little longer. This is because the DLC will also be dropping in early 2021. Not to mention the various collaborations that the game will have in the future with other games. An example of this would be the collab with Death Stranding in which Sam can be equipped with Cyberpunk themed items.

Leaving the game now would mean missing out on the hype that’s to come in the future as well as fresh content. So, if you have bought the game, then our recommendation would be to stick with it and enjoy the spoils later!

Hopefully, we all get an awesome Cyberpunk experience to truly enjoy Christmas at its fullest!
