Starting with Death Stranding 2, Hideo Kojima confirmed that he re-wrote the game after predicting the COVID-19 pandemic in the first installment. He said:
“I had the story written before the pandemic, but after experiencing the pandemic, I rewrote the whole thing from scratch. I also didn’t want to predict any more future, so I rewrote it.”
Horizon Forbidden Forbidden West: Burning Shores gets April 19, 2023 release date
Another big reveal at The Game Awards was Guerrilla Games’ new DLC for Horizon Forbidden West. Continuing Aloy’s journey, Burning Shores sees Aloy travel to the shores of Los Angeles, California. Aside from the familiar Hollywood sign, the trailer featured new characters, environments, and more. Speaking about the vision for the game, a developer post by Game Director, Mathijs de Jonge reads:
“Our creative vision for the Burning Shores is an ambitious expansion which will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles. It’s an overgrown and fractured city that can be fully explored via the water and flying on the back of a Sunwing. A massive machine threat lurks in its shadows – a huge challenge that Aloy must overcome by using all of her skills and abilities.”
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will be PS5-exclusive and launches on April 19, 2023.
