England will kick-off their World Cup 2018 campaign tonight against Tunisia.

‘The Three Lions’ are set to mark off their world cup campaign in Russia tonight as they meet Tunisia. The 21st edition of the World Cup has already seen some highly exciting games, which included the last minute winners and upsets for teams like Germany, and to an extent Argentina and Brazil. Hence, even when England’s game is relatively easier as they play against Tunisia, the Three Lions will have to push hard to secure three points.

England goes into the world cup with no injury scares, and even when Marcus Rashford missed the first training session, the manager Gareth Southgate stated that he will be fit for the match. And now, England wants to ensure that players maintain their fitness throughout the world cup campaign.

In a bid to maintain the fitness levels, England will wear ‘high-tech’ pants. These high-tech pants are battery-powered heated trousers, which the English players will wear throughout the tournament to combat injury-threatening temperatures.

England has set up their training camp in Repino, however they play their first game in Volgograd. While the temperature in Repino was 12 degrees, it is expected to be 33 in Volgograd.

The trousers which the English team will be using are based on research by Longborough University in 2012. These trousers are called the Lizard Heat trousers.

These trousers are designed to keep the muscle temperatures steady.

For the next season, England’s domestic champions Manchester City will also wear the trousers.

Ashdown, managing director of Lizard Heat said in an interview with Sportsmail, “I came up with the idea while watching Formula 1 and watching a piece by Sky on the technology and science as to why rubber is warmed pre-race in whatever conditions.”
