Carlos Sainz took the usual and traditional Ferrari way to arrive at Monza for the 2023 Italian Grand Prix this time around. The Spanish driver, according to Kym Illman arrived at the temple of speed in the $524,815 worth of Ferrari SF90 Stradale. However, this time, Sainz had his mother with him in the car and the latter became emotional during their way into the paddock due to the extreme love his son has received.
Admittedly, the Spanish driver is a loved character in and around the paddock or in the sport. While he was in McLaren, he enjoyed his stay there and is still friends with Lando Norris. Now, coming into Ferrari, he has done the same as he won over Tifosi.

The Tifosi absolutely love their star driver, Sainz. Furthermore, the 29-year-old increased the love to a great extent after he clinched the pole position against the mighty Max Verstappen in Saturday’s qualification.
Extreme love for Sainz left his mother teary-eyed
In a recent video by Illman on his official YouTube channel, the renowned photojournalist revealed that Sainz arrived at Monza with his mother, Reyes Vázquez de Castro. It was indeed a rare sight when the son drove his mother to the race venue.
As de Castro arrived, seeing the pool of supporters her son had, she immediately got emotional. Talking about this, Illman said, “Carlos [Sainz] arrived in his car with his mum. I had a chat with her afterward, and she was quite emotional about the journey, saying she teared up a little bit seeing the enormous love for Carlos.”
As the Spanish driver already justified the love by the Tifosi with a pole position on Saturday, Sunday’s podium came as a very important reminder that he is also an equal contender for the championship at Scuderia Ferrari.
The power struggle between Leclerc and Sainz in Ferrari
Even though things look great from the outside between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, it is not. The duo might appear very friendly to each other for the social media or endorsement shoot; however, there is indeed a great sense of inner struggle between them.
This is because the Monegasque is believed to have Ferrari’s support more than that of the Spaniard. Probably, this is why the team did not interfere when Leclerc was going wheel-to-wheel against Sainz in multiple risky moves.
Sainz’s father Carlos Sainz Sr. has already complained about this on multiple occasions. Nevertheless, the Monza race ended with the 29-year-old claiming P3 in their own backyard without any monumental loss caused by their tussles.
